Paolo Capponi is a film composer, spatial audio artist and sound engineer. His musical pieces explore the meeting point of composition and improvisation while addressing thoughts on sound synthesis, music technology and live performance. He combines elements of orchestral, acoustic and electronic music, developing distinctive and immersive musical scores but also evocative and colorful musical compositions.

His latest work features a collaboration with Grammy Award composer Sam Slater (composer of Chernobyl, Battlefield 2042) and AV artist Theresa Baumgartner. They worked together on an Audio Visual installation called “I do not wish to be known as a Vandal”. The installation was exhibited at Berghain (Berlin) for CTM electronic music festival using a complex layout speaker array. He engineered the immersive audio exhibition and created spatial audio content. 

As a composer and producer he has collaborated with renowned bands ( e.g. Pinguini Tattici Nucleari - Sony Music), music festivals (e.g. Ableton Loop, CTM, MIRA) and film festivals (Krakow, Marseille, Gent and Venice Biennale).  He was credited for the Original Soundtrack, sound design and audio post production of several movies such as: Like Heaven without God (2025),  Vlinderman (2023), Fake Address (2023), Fake Address. 

He holds a BA in Sound Engineering and a joint MA in Music for Screen (KASK Conservatory & Conservatorio di Bologna G.B. Martini).
